Ali Tareque has written many short stories and poems, published in both Bengali and English literary journals and anthologies. His collection of Bengali short stories “Sontan and Sonketer Upokotha” was published from Dhaka in 2022. Tareque has also written several playscripts, and has directed more than a dozen stage plays at his self-owned theater in Houston. He recently wrote and directed a short film that is being submitted to film festivals. "Echo of the Silence" is his first novel. Born in Bangladesh, Tareque currently lives in Houston with his wife and four children.
